Salmon sashimi with wasabi and apple purée, crispy baby frisée and smoked chipotle chili sauce

December 2, 2011

Tonight I’m making the easiest starter ever: Salmon sashimi with apple and wasabi purée, crispy baby frisée and smoked chipolte chili sauce.

Here’s how you do it:

Buy some fresh salmon and cut into thin slices. Layer the salmon with thin green apple slices and garnish with some frisée lettuce.

For the apple and wasabi purée you simply just mix the wasabi with some apple in the blender with a pinch of sea salt.

As for the smoked chipotle chili sauce you fry some garlic and onion in some olive oil, then add a hint of brown sugar, a touch of vinegar, some crushed tomatoes and let it simmer for a while. Take it off the pan and add the chopped chipotle chili and then finally mix it all in the blender.

A perfect quick and tasty starter for the beginning of the weekend!
