Soirée de gala gastronomique russe at the Grand Hôtel, Cannes

Yesterday evening I was at the opening of the Russian gastronomic week at the Grand Hôtel in Cannes.
Right about everywhere there were live cooking stations with savory canapés, finger foods and mini desserts from Sebastian Broda and his team from the Grand Hôtel, but also from other famous French and Russian chefs. (with names I couldn’t even pronounce).

While tasting all the beautiful food we got to drink Champagne from Louis Roederer and Vodka from Kremlin.

This was my second year I went, and this time was extraordinary! Even though the food last year was amazing, I have to say that this year there was an even higher level in the presentation. Everything just looked so beautiful! I just wanted to take photos of it all the whole time. As they say  -A plate of food should be like a painting. And I couldn’t agree more.

For me, who absolutely loves the art of food presentation, I can tell you I was in canapé heaven! I’ll let the photos speak for themselves:
